Welcome to my Technology in Education blog. I am presently a first year student of the Antigua State College Department of Teacher Education. This blogs was created as a part of my technology in education course as a reflective journal of the knowledge I will gain throughout the life span of the course and how I will be implementing technology into the classroom.
Why should educators integrate technology in their classroom?
If one is to be called EDUCATOR in this twenty first century he/she would be failing to prepare their students to face a world that is rapidly advancing and integrating technology into the working world.
This summer I had the privilege to witness the horrifying effects of a London underground train strike. One day of strike action cost the British economy some 10 -300 million pounds. Yet some business where able to continue functioning and earning, because their workers where simply put, Tech Savvy, while other workers where unable to get to work these workers just worked from home using technology.
This is an technological age students should not just know about these tools but be comfortable and experienced with them.

As an Educator, my VISION is to be a source of knowledge and a force for cognitive maturity. I aspire to be a father figure, friend and foundation rock for all who enter my sphere of influence.

Presently, my focus at this point in my life is to seek out and absorb the knowledge and training that will lead me to be the excellent educator that I envision. I have been the Caterpillar for a long time. Now I force myself into the cocoon to break old habits, learn new skills, cultivate higher standards of excellence. My Metamorphosis is coming. I press.
